Mike attended Glendowie College from 1984 to 1988 and comes from a competitive rowing background. After leaving Glendowie College, Mike rowed for New Zealand for 5 years, winning 20 New Zealand rowing titles and 60 North Island titles
In 1995, Mike won a silver medal in the coxed four at the World Rowing Championships in Tampere, Finland. Mike explains “Rowing is a great sport that has provided me with a lot of opportunity and lifelong friends”.
Glendowie Community Involvement
Mike attended Glendowie College a school that believes sport is an important part of a student’s education. With 29 different sports on offer they are committed to providing junior and senior students with as much opportunity as possible to be involved and participate in organised sport.
Mike says, “The lessons I have learned rowing for Glendowie have stayed with me and been a defining factor in my success as a mortgage broker. Rowing has a lot to offer young people and I’m keen to support the local rowing scene in any way I can.”

Bream Bay United Football Club and Glendowie College Rowing Club are just a couple of the teams he supports providing sporting equipment, uniforms and chipping in for community sausage sizzles.
